2022 CWL Conference (Feb 28 - Mar 4, 2022)

We are happy to announce the online 2022 Common Workflow Language Conference!



Please join us if you are a:
  • User of CWL, at any scale or complexity

  • Workflow engine developer

  • Sysadmin, operation, and/or devops person who is running CWL workflows in production

  • Participant in the CWL ecosystem

  • …Or if you just want to learn more about CWL

Over the week of Feb 28 - Mar 4, 2022 there will be three 4-hour long sessions of talks and discussions. The session times were scheduled to make them accessible to our global community. We expect that any person could join for up to two of these sessions; please join us when you can. That is the great benefit of virtual conferences!

Sessions will be focused on discussion and interaction and there will be opportunities for chat outside of those moments as well. All registered participants will be contacted again with details regarding the final schedule and connection instructions for the virtual conferencing and chat systems.

  • Share what topics and session formats would be most useful or of the most interest to you. We want to customize the sessions based on your ideas!

  10. Please share any useful links related to your presentation (repositories, project pages etc.) separated by a comma.
  11. Do you have suggestions of a panel session you would like to have or lead during the conference?
  12. Any other comments or questions?

We want to have presentations from you, the CWL community. Presentations can be 5, 10, or 15 minutes long and will be pre-recorded and publicly available before the conference.

This event, like all CWL events, will be subject to the CWL Code Of Conduct. Please let us know if you need any accessibility accommodations for this conference such as live captioning. We will be having talk videos captioned and available beforehand.

How to participate in the CWL Conference

(Please make sure you are signed up ahead of time)

We recommend doing this the day before your first session.

Please join our Matrix Space https://matrix.to/#/#cwl:matrix.org and then go into the “CWL Conference” room.

If you haven’t used Matrix before then follow these instructions:

  1. Choose the “Element” App if you don’t have a Matrix client already.

  2. You can download the native Element app for your operating system if you want, but choosing to “Continue in your browser” is fine.

  3. From the Element native app, or browser session choose "Join"And then “create an account” using your own Google, GitHub, or GitLab, account.

  4. Now that you’re signed in, join the “CWL Conference” room.

Tech support

If you have any questions during the conference itself, for example you are having technical difficulties, then please contact us in the CWL Conference room or use the CWL Gitter chat room as a backup.

Before and after each session you are welcome to chat using voice, video, or text with the other participants in the “CWL Conference” room.

Sustaining the Common Workflow Language project

The 2022 CWL Conference is free of charge and we invite you to donate 50 USD or more to the CWL project via our fiscal host, Software Freedom Conservancy, to support the continued development of the CWL standards, community, and educational material.
